Privacy Policy

Zei AI ("Zei AI", "we", "us", "our") operates a platform that helps citizens apply for, correct, reprint, or track PAN card services through partner Common Service Centres (CSCs). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used, shared, and protected.

Zei AI is a private platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Government of India, the Income Tax Department, NSDL, UTIITSL, or Protean eGov Technologies Limited.

1. Information we collect

To process a PAN application on your behalf, we collect:

• Identity details - your name, date of birth, gender, and relatives' names (father's / mother's / spouse's name) as required on the applicable government form.
• Contact and location details - phone number, email address, postal address, and, where you allow it, your device location to find nearby CSC centres.
• Identity documents - images of Aadhaar, or other proof of identity/address you upload, along with your photograph and signature.
• Application data - Aadhaar number (as required by the PAN form), PAN number (for corrections/reprints), acknowledgement numbers, and appointment details.
• Payment information - processed by our payment partner; we do not store your card, UPI, or net-banking credentials.
• Usage data - chat messages with our assistant, app interactions, and device/browser information, used to operate and improve the service.

2. How we use your information

• To fill and validate your government application form before it is submitted.
• To verify your uploaded documents and cross-check them against your form details, including with the help of automated (AI-assisted) review.
• To book and manage your appointment at a CSC centre.
• To communicate with you about your application status, via SMS, email, or in-app notifications.
• To process payments for the service.
• To detect fraud, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share your information with

• CSC centre operators who process and submit your application at their counter.
• NSDL/Protean, UTIITSL, and the Income Tax Department, as required to submit and process your PAN application - your data is shared with them only to the extent necessary for the service you've requested.
• Payment gateway partners, to process your payment securely.
• AI/cloud infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, solely to power document verification and the chat assistant.
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for unrelated marketing purposes.

4. Data security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and limited internal access to protect your data. Sensitive files such as your signature and photograph are never sent to our AI review systems. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data retention

We retain your application data for as long as needed to complete your service request, resolve disputes, and meet legal or regulatory record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of your account data, subject to any retention we are legally required to maintain.

6. Your rights

• Access, correct, or update the personal information you've given us.
• Withdraw consent for optional data uses (such as location access), which may limit some features.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data, where legally permissible.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

8. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for users who are legally eligible to hold a PAN and use our platform. We do not knowingly collect data from minors without appropriate guardian involvement where required by the applicable government process.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the platform. Continued use of Zei AI after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
